There Will Be “Avengers: Doomsday” Related Footage In “Avengers: Endgame” Re-Release:
It was spilled during Disney’s presentation at Cinemacon that Joe and Anthony Russo’s theatrical re-release of “Avengers: Endgame” will feature previously unreleased footage…but there’s more to it than that. At the Sands Film Festival in St Andrews, Scotland, Joe Russo revealed “we’ll be re-releasing the film with footage that is set in the ‘Doomsday’ story that we have added to ‘Avengers: Endgame.’” Russo says that the “Endgame” re-release is a bridge to the new film. Meanwhile, Russo also dished that Robert Downey Jr.’s return as Dr. Doom was the result of “a long conversation between Marvel, Kevin Feige, and Robert.”
Ryan Reynolds Talks Deadpool Future Plans
Good news and… slightly less good news for “Deadpool” fans. Ryan Reynolds says the Merc with a Mouth isn’t going anywhere—but he is stepping out of the spotlight. In an interview, Reynolds said he’s got ideas written for Deadpool’s future, but doesn’t plan to center him again. Instead, he says the character works best as part of an ensemble. So yes—Deadpool lives on, but don’t expect him flying solo as much going forward.
James Gunn Teases “Man of Tomorrow” Has Started Filming
James Gunn is already back in the DC universe—confirming that “Man of Tomorrow,” the Superman sequel, is officially in production. He shared a behind-the-scenes photo teasing Lex Luthor as filming gets underway. David Corenswet returns as Superman, and this time he’ll reportedly team up with Lex Luthor—played by Nicholas Hoult—to take on Brainiac. The sequel hits theaters July 9, 2027.

New Star Wars Series Turns Darth Maul Into A Noir Crime Story
The new Disney+ series Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord is getting attention for borrowing one of the most debated ideas from the prequel era and making it work: the detective-style storytelling from Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones. Instead of focusing only on Maul, the show also follows a police detective on the planet Janix who gets pulled into a deeper investigation after crossing paths with the former Sith Lord. The early episodes lean hard into classic noir, with a rule-bending detective, a police droid partner, shady informants, and a growing suspicion that the real danger is not just Maul, but the Empire itself. .
Disney Quietly Ends A Major Mandalorian Fan Theory Before The Movie Arrives
A long-running Mandalorian fan theory has now been all but shut down thanks to the new Disney+ animated series Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord. For years, fans believed the Armorer from The Mandalorian might secretly be Rook Kast, a Mandalorian who once served under Darth Maul during the Clone Wars, largely because of similar armor design and the Armorer’s horned helmet. But in the first episodes of Maul – Shadow Lord, Rook Kast is shown openly removing her helmet and following a very different code than the Children of the Watch, effectively breaking that connection. That matters because the Armorer’s strict helmet creed is central to her identity, meaning Lucasfilm appears to be intentionally separating the two characters as it tightens continuity ahead of the upcoming The Mandalorian & Grogu theatrical release.
Dungeons & Dragons Tests Four New Evil Subclasses For Players
Dungeons & Dragons has released a new Unearthed Arcana playtest featuring four villain-themed subclasses that let you lean fully into darker character builds before they become official rules. The new options include the Pestilence Domain Cleric, built around disease, plague, poison, and decay; the Circle of the Titan Druid, which can transform into giant destructive monster forms; the Hell Knight Fighter, who channels infernal fire through weapons and armor; and the Demonic Sorcery Sorcerer, which uses Abyss-inspired magic to corrupt the battlefield. These playtest subclasses are free to try now through Unearthed Arcana, but players will need Dungeon Master approval since they are still experimental and not yet part of official character builders.

WHO WINS — WOLVERINE OR CAPTAIN AMERICA?
I get asked all the time…if Wolverine and Captain America ever went all-out, who actually wins? In the comics, Wolverine may have the deadlier weapon set thanks to his adamantium claws and healing factor, but Captain America usually has the edge when it comes to discipline, strategy, and controlling a fight. One big question fans always ask is whether Wolverine could cut through Cap’s shield, and the answer is usually no. Cap’s shield is a rare proto-adamantium and vibranium alloy, making it one of the toughest objects in the Marvel Universe, so while Wolverine’s claws can spark against it, they typically don’t slice through it. In a short fight, Cap often wins by outthinking Wolverine and using the shield to keep distance, but if the fight drags on and turns brutal, Wolverine becomes much harder to stop. In comic history, the two usually stop short of a true finish, mostly because they respect each other too much to go fully lethal.
MASSIVE LEGO EREBOR BUILD BRINGS THE LONELY MOUNTAIN TO LIFE
A fan-built LEGO recreation of Erebor — the legendary Lonely Mountain from The Hobbit — is getting attention online for one very big reason: it uses more than 55,000 pieces. Built by designer Michał Kaźmierczak, the project took about seven months to complete and measures more than five feet wide, focusing on Erebor’s massive front gate made famous in The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. The build also includes interior details like the throne room, treasure chambers, giant dwarf statues, and even sections inspired by battle scenes from the films. While LEGO doesn’t currently sell an official Erebor set, fans can still get their Middle-earth fix with the official LEGO The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell set, which comes in at more than 6,000 pieces — impressive, but still nowhere near enough to claim the title of King Under the Mountain.
NEW SUPERGIRL TRAILER DROPS BIG DCU SURPRISES
The new trailer for Supergirl is giving fans their clearest look yet at where the new DC Universe is headed. The trailer shows a darker, more emotionally damaged version of Supergirl inspired by the comic Woman of Tomorrow. One of the biggest moments is a message from Superman, checking in on Kara while she’s in space with Krypto, while flashbacks reveal her father sending her away from Krypton before its destruction. The trailer also confirms the movie’s central mission: Krypto has been poisoned, and Kara has only three days to find the antidote. Fans also get their best look yet at villain Krem of the Yellow Hills, plus the first real introduction of Lobo, played by Jason Momoa. The movie hits theaters June 26th.

After wrapping up The Late Show with Stephen Colbert this spring, Stephen Colbert is heading to Middle-earth. Peter Jackson announced Colbert will help write a new film called The Lord of the Rings: Shadow of the Past, based on parts of The Fellowship of the Ring that never made it into the original movies. The story is set 14 years after Frodo’s death and follows Sam, Merry, and Pippin on a new journey, while Sam’s daughter uncovers a secret tied to the War of the Ring. Colbert says the idea came from rereading those early chapters Tolkien fans always wished had made it to the screen
If you play Dungeons & Dragons, building a character on D&D Beyond is getting a makeover. The company just launched a new “Quickbuilder,” designed to help players create a level-one character faster and with less confusion. The goal is to make character creation easier for new players, smarter about game rules, and more flexible for customization — while cutting down on common mistakes like missing ability bonuses or picking duplicate skills. D&D Beyond says this is just the first step, with bigger upgrades planned for the full Character Builder, and they’re asking players to help shape what comes next before feedback closes March
Marvel is doing something brand new with Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. Instead of dropping multiple episodes, the premiere only gives fans one episode — the first time an MCU series connected to the old Netflix Marvel shows has launched that way. Then next, two episodes arrive together. Fans are also hyped because Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio will finally face off physically again after seven years. And Marvel says the bigger street-level universe keeps growing: Jessica Jones is officially back, The Punisher gets a special in May, and Luke Cage could return too. Meanwhile, Cox says don’t expect Daredevil in Spider-Man: Brand New Day — at least that’s his story for now.

Even without Batman fully in the DCU yet, James Gunn is building a whole lineup of Batman spin-offs! First up, Clayface hits theaters this October as an R-rated body horror exploring Matt Hagen’s origin. A Bane & Deathstroke villain team-up is also in development, while the animated Dynamic Duo follows Dick Grayson and Jason Todd teaming up against Gotham baddies, set for June 2028. Plus, fans are still hoping for a second season of The Penguin starring Colin Farrell. Gunn is overseeing all of it, making sure Gotham’s world keeps expanding, even if the Caped Crusader himself hasn’t fully shown up yet.

If you’re missing Stranger Things, there’s a little good news. A brand-new adventure in the Stranger Things universe officially dropped yesterday. A new comic collection called “Stranger Things: Tales from Hawkins 2” hit shelves March 10, bringing fans back to the town of Hawkins with new stories that take place alongside the timeline of the show. The roughly 90-page collection includes several short stories, like Mr. Clarke’s terrifying run-in with a demodog at the drive-in, a deeper look at the Upside Down through Will Byers’ eyes, and even the backstory of the Russian agent Grigori. It’s about twenty bucks and available at comic shops and online if you’re looking for something to hold you over while fans wait for the upcoming Stranger Things spinoffs.
If you’re a fan of the Star Wars series Andor, two of its most mysterious characters are officially coming back, just not on screen. A new prequel novel called Star Wars: Reign of the Empire – Edge of the Abyss will bring back rebel mastermind Luthen Rael and his behind-the-scenes partner Kleya Marki. The story takes place about a year before the events of Andor and follows the early days of resistance against the Empire, with familiar faces like Mon Mothma, Bail Organa, Saw Gerrera, and even a young Leia Organa. The novel explores how the rebellion slowly starts to organize as different factions try to push back against the Empire years before the Rebel Alliance officially forms.
Comic fans are getting a big blast from the past this summer. Marvel Comics and DC Comics are bringing back their legendary crossover JLA/Avengers with brand-new reprints. The four-issue series originally came out in 2003 after decades of attempts to get Marvel and DC’s biggest heroes into the same story. Now the reprints will roll out over the summer, with two issues released by Marvel and two by DC, letting fans once again see the Justice League and the Avengers teaming up and clashing as their universes collide.

The 25th anniversary of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring is bringing new releases, including a tabletop game called The Lord of the Rings: Foes of Middle-Earth. It’s a co-op dungeon crawler where you can play as Frodo, Aragorn and Legolas, battle through iconic locations and even face the Balrog.

Prime Video's New Spider-Man Series Will Officially Make History With Rare Rating For The Marvel Superhero
Spider-Man is going darker than ever. Prime Video’s upcoming live-action series Spider-Noir, the one with Nicolas Cage as Ben Reilly, has officially been rated TV-14, making it the most mature Spider-Man TV series ever. So expect a much grittier tone than we’re used to from Spidey. The series is co-run by Steve Lightfoot, who worked on The Punisher, so yeah, it’s leaning dark. Spider-Noir premieres May 25th domestically on MGM+ and rolls out internationally May 27th.
Marvel Officially Axes 2026's Most Ambitious Release
Marvel just quietly pulled the plug on what was supposed to be its biggest cosmic comics push of 2026. After launching the Imperial storyline in 2025, the plan was to spin that intergalactic shake-up into five ongoing series featuring characters like Star-Lord, Nova, Black Panther and She-Hulk in space. But according to reports, those titles are now being cut short, or canceled altogether. That includes books like Imperial Guardians, Nova Centurion, and Black Panther: Intergalactic, which were meant to define Marvel’s deep-space future. The big twist? The storyline set up massive galactic power shifts, even positioning Star-Lord and Black Panther as rival empire leaders, basically teeing up a cosmic-level Civil War… and now it may never happen. So for now, Marvel’s bold new space era is fizzling out instead of blasting off.

AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY ADDS ANOTHER DISNEY+ CHARACTER
Looks like Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday may be pulling even more from the streaming side of the MCU. Owen Wilson’s Mobius from Loki is expected to join the film. With Loki already confirmed for Doomsday and the multiverse expected to play a major role, the TVA connection makes sense. Mobius wouldn’t be alone. Danny Ramirez’s Falcon, first introduced in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, is confirmed to appear, along with Wyatt Russell’s U.S. Agent. Both characters have transitioned from Disney+ to theatrical releases and now into the next Avengers film. There are also rumors that Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop from Hawkeye and Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel from Ms. Marvel could be involved, especially after teases about a Young Avengers-style team forming. Marvel hasn’t confirmed the full cast yet, but it looks ike Avengers: Doomsday may be bringing together heroes from every corner of the MCU, including Disney+.
D&D BEYOND TO BE REBUILT FROM THE GROUND UP
Big changes are coming to D&D Beyond. Wizards of the Coast just revealed plans to rebuild the platform from the ground up, rolling out what they’re calling a true game engine. The update is designed to make the system faster, more scalable, and more data-driven, meaning rules, character sheets, and content updates can be adjusted more smoothly without hard-coding everything. The first big upgrade will show up in a revamped Character Builder later this year, along with expanded DM tools, map features, and prep options. The goal? Make D&D Beyond more of a one-stop digital hub and better compete with virtual tabletop platforms.

Episode 5 secretly revives the cancelled Flea Bottom spinoff
Okay, this is a cool surprise for Game of Thrones fans. Episode 5 of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms basically brought back a cancelled HBO spinoff…briefly…the one that was supposed to focus on Flea Bottom, the slums of King’s Landing. A few years ago, HBO scrapped the idea. But in this episode, we get flashbacks of young Dunk surviving the brutal streets of Flea Bottom, stealing, dodging criminals, and just trying to make it.
It’s gritty, dark, and shows a side of Westeros we didn’t really see in Game of Thrones or House of the Dragon, which mostly focused on nobles and power players.
For one episode, we basically got the Flea Bottom show.
Avengers: Doomsday just revealed its fifth mutant
The newest trailer for Avengers: Doomsday just gave us another major mutant reveal.
The latest footage focuses heavily on Wakanda and Talokan, with Shuri stepping fully into her role as Black Panther. But the big surprise? The return of Namora, officially making her the fifth mutant we’ve now seen in the movie’s trailers. She wasn’t even part of the original cast announcement, so this reveal caught fans off guard.
So far, here are the five mutants we’ve seen:
Marvel has also confirmed more mutants are coming, including Beast, Gambit, Nightcrawler, and Mystique, and there are strong rumors about Deadpool and Wolverine showing up too. Avengers: Doomsday isn’t just another crossover. It’s officially launching the X-Men era in the MCU.
McKellen returns as Gandalf for new Middle-earth adventure
Big news for The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum fans! Filming kicks off this July, and Ian McKellen is back as Gandalf the Grey. The movie takes place before The Fellowship of the Ring and follows Aragorn on his hunt for Gollum, at Gandalf’s direction, after Gollum loses the One Ring. No official trailer yet, and the movie isn’t hitting theaters until December 17, 2027. This marks the first live-action Middle-earth film since 2014’s The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.

Game of Thrones fans, this is wild, HBO’s new spinoff A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms could run for 30 years. The show is already the most-watched series on HBO Max, season two is in production, and the showrunner says he wants 12–15 seasons spread out over decades.
The idea?
• 4–5 seasons with Egg as a kid
• Take a 10-year break
• 4–5 seasons with Egg as a prince
• Another 10-year break
• Finish with Egg as an adult
Same actor, real-time aging, no recasting. After how rushed Game of Thrones ended, fans actually love this, a slow-burn story that follows characters through their entire lives.
Star Wars fans all seem to agree on one thing after the Super Bowl… that Mandalorian and Grogu trailer? Not great. Sure, Super Bowl trailers are a big deal, but instead of showing what the movie’s actually about, the ad parodied other Super Bowl commercials. Like… a fake truck ad. And fans were not impressed. Online reactions were brutal. People are calling this the worst-marketed Star Wars movie ever, saying nobody even knows the plot yet, which is kind of a problem when you’re releasing a movie in theaters. Fans are frustrated because this is a huge moment: Din Djarin has officially adopted Grogu, the Empire has fallen, and the New Republic is trying to clean up the galaxy with help from the galaxy’s favorite Mandalorian duo. Lucasfilm has since released a synopsis confirming it’s Din and Grogu working as forces for good, but fans are asking the same question: Why didn’t the Super Bowl ad just… tell us that? The movie hits theaters May 22nd
Big news for fantasy nerds, HBO is making a Baldur’s Gate TV series. The insanely popular Dungeons & Dragons-ish video game is getting the TV treatment, and it’s being run by Craig Mazin, the guy behind The Last of Us. So expectations are already high. This comes after Baldur’s Gate 3 exploded in popularity, over 15 million players and a stack of Game of the Year awards. Fans are hoping the show leans into what made the game so addictive: big choices, rich storytelling, and full-on D&D-ish chaos.

Marvel Officially Reveals the X-Men’s New Suits for Avengers: Doomsday
Marvel has officially unveiled the X-Men’s updated looks for Avengers: Doomsday, and fans are losing it. A new teaser gives us our first real glimpse at how the mutants will appear in the MCU, featuring returning legends Patrick Stewart as Professor X and Ian McKellen as Magneto. The biggest moment, though, is James Marsden’s Cyclops, now rocking a blue-and-yellow suit inspired by X-Men ’97, ditching the all-black leather look from the early 2000s. Official merch has also revealed updated designs for Beast, Mystique, Nightcrawler, and Gambit, with Mystique getting a major change in a full white suit. While it’s still unclear how the X-Men fit into the Doomsday storyline, or whether Doctor Doom is involved yet, the teaser makes one thing clear: Marvel is finally giving the mutants the comic-accurate style and spotlight fans have been waiting for.
Breaking Down the Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Twist
Knight of the Seven Kingdoms started out feeling small and playful, but episode three drops a big reveal that suddenly ties the show tightly into the larger Game of Thrones timeline: Dunk’s young squire Egg isn’t just a random kid, he’s actually Aegon Targaryen. This series is set right between House of the Dragon and Game of Thrones, during a calmer stretch of Targaryen rule when the dragons are gone but still very much remembered. Egg is the grandson of King Daeron “the Good,” a relatively stable ruler with a whole lot of heirs, which means Egg himself is far down the line of succession and able to live more freely than most Targaryens. That freedom lets the show explore whether Targaryens are born dangerous or shaped by how they’re raised, with Egg showing flashes of royal confidence mixed with genuine kindness.
Steve Harrington’s Stranger Things Story Isn’t Over Yet
Even though Stranger Things wrapped up with season five, one of Steve Harrington’s biggest storylines is making a comeback in the franchise’s next chapter. Netflix has dropped the first trailer for Stranger Things: Tales from ’85, an animated prequel series arriving April 23rd, 2026, and it’s set between seasons two and three, back when the Upside Down was still a very real threat. The trailer’s final moment brings the focus back to Steve’s complicated love life, with a callback to his long-running connection to Nancy. Since this story takes place years earlier, the romance is expected to be lighter and less heavy than in the final season, but it shows that Steve and Nancy’s dynamic is still a key thread in the Stranger Things universe, and one fans aren’t done revisiting just yet.

LEGO just dropped something cool for Lord of the Rings fans, officially revealing a new Sauron’s Helmet set inspired by the movie trilogy, and it’s coming March 1 with preorders already live. The set is designed as a display piece, standing just over a foot tall, made with 538 pieces. It also includes a highly detailed Sauron minifigure, which is kind of a big deal, because until now you could only get that figure in a massive $460 Barad-Dûr set, plus it even comes with the One Ring. And rumors are already swirling that 2026 could bring an absolutely massive Minas Tirith set that would be the biggest and most expensive Lord of the Rings LEGO set ever… though for now, that one’s still just a rumor.
Planet of the Apes is officially going tabletop, Magnetic Press is turning the sci-fi franchise into a full-blown role-playing game where, yes, you can absolutely roll for initiative against filthy humans. James Gunn just confirmed that DC Studios is officially working on a fourth Batman movie that will exist outside the main DC Universe. In a quick online Q&A, he shut down rumors that the animated Dynamic Duo movie, focused on two former Robins…Dick Grayson and Jason Todd…was being rewritten to fit into the shared universe, saying simply, “Nope.” That locks Dynamic Duo in as an Elseworlds story, joining Matt Reeves’ The Batman, its upcoming sequel, and the upcoming animated Batman: Knightfall. The Dynamic Duo film is set to hit theaters June 30, 2028.
HBO is reportedly in very early development on a new Game of Thrones spinoff that could bring back fan-favorite Arya Stark, and possibly Jon Snow, too. An earlier Jon Snow sequel was scrapped because it focused on a bleak, PTSD-heavy storyline that executives felt was too dark for such a beloved character. Now, the idea is being reworked with Arya added to the mix, potentially shifting the story away from the icy lands beyond the Wall and into the more exotic world of Essos. There’s no confirmation yet on returning cast members—especially since Kit Harington has previously said he doesn’t want to revisit Jon Snow at all.
The new LEGO Star Wars Smart Bricks sets are now up for pre-order, and they add lights, sounds, and motion-triggered effects into a tiny high-tech brick that brings your builds to life. The first wave includes Darth Vader’s TIE Fighter, Luke’s Red Five X-Wing, and a deluxe Throne Room Duel set, all using “Smart Tags” that tell the bricks when to play engine sounds, blaster fire, lightsaber hums, or even the Imperial March. Some sets even let you attach Smart Bricks directly to minifigures, so lightsabers activate during battles. Prices range from about 70 to 160 bucks, and while it starts with Star Wars, LEGO fans are already buzzing about how this tech could completely change future sets.

James Gunn Talks About the Possible Netflix–Warner Bros. Deal
With rumors swirling about Netflix possibly buying Warner Bros., even the people at the top admit they don’t really know what’s going to happen, including DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn. Gunn says he’s cautiously optimistic about the potential deal but admits there’s still a lot of uncertainty, especially when it comes to how movies would be released in theaters. Reports suggest Netflix could shorten the theatrical window to just 17 days, which has raised concerns about what that might mean for movie theaters. Gunn says he’s been through big industry shake-ups before, so while he finds the situation exciting, he’s also realistic about the unknowns. Netflix, meanwhile, says it plans to keep Warner Bros. operating independently and continue investing heavily in films, TV, and U.S. production. For now, Gunn and DC Studios are moving forward with their plans, including new DC movies like Supergirl and Clayface this year, and a Superman sequel already scheduled for 2027.
Lucasfilm May Be Hitting Pause on the MandoVerse
A new report suggests Lucasfilm is rethinking the future of the so-called “MandoVerse,” the era of Star Wars storytelling built around The Mandalorian and the time period between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. Since 2019, that corner of the galaxy has carried much of the franchise with multiple Disney+ series, but insiders now say Lucasfilm is in a wait-and-see mode. Nothing beyond Ahsoka Season 2 is currently planned, and the studio is watching closely to see how that season performs before committing to more projects. Right now, the only remaining MandoVerse titles on the slate are Ahsoka Season 2 and the upcoming theatrical release The Mandalorian & Grogu, and there’s growing speculation that Lucasfilm may shift its focus away from streaming and back toward movies. If Ahsoka doesn’t deliver and the movie performs well, the MandoVerse could continue exclusively in theaters.
Stranger Things Star Shuts Down Secret Finale Theory
Stranger Things fans who were unhappy with how the series ended have been clinging to a viral theory that there’s a secret final episode still coming, but one of the show’s stars says nope. After the final episode, TikTok exploded with a theory called “Conformity Gate,” claiming the emotional epilogue was actually an illusion created by villain Vecna. But actor Jamie Campbell Bower, who plays Vecna, appeared on The Tonight Show and said the finale was “the ending the show deserves.” Despite fans dissecting background details and Netflix posting a cryptic message about the future, no secret episode has dropped, and creators the Duffer Brothers insist no alternate endings were filmed. While debate still rages online, Bower’s comments seem to officially close the door on the mystery ending fans were hoping for.

DC Announces the 5th Chapter of James Gunn’s DC Universe
DC just revealed a big update on James Gunn’s rebooted DC Universe, and 2026 is shaping up to be a huge year. The fifth chapter of the DCU will be the HBO series Lanterns, which is now slated for a late-summer debut after Supergirl hits theaters on June 26. What makes this extra exciting is that DC will roll out three DCU projects in just four months: Supergirl, then Lanterns, and then the darker, R-rated Clayface movie in September. It’s the most aggressive release stretch DC has ever done and a big test to see if Gunn’s new DC Universe can keep fans hooked across movies and TV.
Every Star Wars Release Coming to Disney+ in 2026
Star Wars fans are getting a packed year in 2026, with Disney+ rolling out multiple new projects — plus a big theatrical movie tied directly to the streaming universe. The headline release is The Mandalorian & Grogu, a brand-new movie hitting theaters May 22, 2026; it’ll stream on Disney+ a few months after its theatrical run. On the animated side, Star Wars: Visions — The Ninth Jedi continues Kara’s story, while Star Wars: Maul: Shadow Lord brings Darth Maul back to the spotlight. 2026 is shaping up to be a must-watch year for Star Wars fans on Disney+.
The Last of Us Season 3 Is Recasting a Key Character
There’s a notable shakeup coming to The Last of Us season three, as HBO has confirmed it’s recasting the role of Manny, one of Abby’s key allies. Actor Danny Ramirez, who joined the series in season two, is stepping away due to scheduling conflicts. This change comes after an already eventful behind-the-scenes period, including co-creator Neil Druckmann stepping back. Filming is expected to begin in March, and they’ve teased that season three will be bigger and longer, so while fans will see a new face in the role, Manny will still play an important part as the story continues to dive deeper into Abby’s arc.

Jason Momoa Is Taking Lobo to the Big Screen
DC fans, get ready—Lobo is back, and Jason Momoa is bringing him to life in next year’s Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow!
DC just revealed a new Lobo comic design, crafted by artist Jorge Corona, that’s equal parts throwback and totally fresh, perfectly setting the stage for Momoa’s on-screen debut.
If you don’t know who Lobo is, he’s a rowdy, cigar-chomping antihero created in the early ’80s as a parody of Wolverine and the Punisher, was a 1990s comic sensation.
Momoa’s Lobo will hit theaters in summer 2026, and the first trailer has already fans buzzing about Lobo returning to the spotlight.
To match the hype, DC is launching a new ongoing Lobo series, basically giving Lobo one of his best looks in years.
Lobo #1 hits stores March 4th.

Marvel just hit the panic button — and fans might actually love it.
Marvel Studios has confirmed TWO Avengers movies hitting theaters in 2026. The big one is Avengers: Doomsday, dropping December 18th, 2026, right before Christmas, which is a major shift for Marvel. They’re clearly swinging for the fences. But here’s the twist: Avengers: Endgame is coming back to theaters for a limited re-release on September 25th, 2026, just a few months before Doomsday. So Marvel is basically saying, “Hey, remember when you loved us? Let’s do that again.” This is Marvel reversing course after years of delays, underperforming movies, and fan fatigue. And they’re bringing in the big guns:
Marvel is betting that Endgame nostalgia will rebuild hype and set up Doomsday as a true sequel, especially since rumors say Captain America staying in the past with Peggy Carter may have broken the multiverse and caught Doctor Doom’s attention.
What’s wild? After Doomsday, Marvel is taking a full year off before Avengers: Secret Wars hits in December 2027, no MCU movies in between. That’s a first.
So this is Marvel’s plan: rewind the clock, bring back the faces fans trust, and hope lightning strikes again.
Spider-Man is kicking off 2026 by taking on his toughest villain ever, and it’s a rematch he barely survived the first time.
In the first Spider-Man appearance of the year, Peter Parker goes head-to-head with Hellgate, a super-powerful alien villain who absolutely wrecked him the last time they fought. This all goes down in Amazing Spider-Man #19, hitting comic shops January 7th, 2026. Quick backstory: Hellgate is basically a god-level alien warrior. When he first fought Spider-Man, nothing worked, punches, buildings dropped on him, even liquid nitrogen. Hellgate crushed Peter so badly he was exiled from Earth, and while Spidey was gone, Norman Osborn actually took over as Spider-Man. Now Peter’s back, stronger, angrier, and ready for Round Two.
And that’s not the only Spidey chaos in January.
In Amazing Spider-Man #20, out January 21st, Norman Osborn’s Spider-Man faces off against Hobgoblin, who’s upgraded with an entire army’s worth of weapons and wants Norman out of the Spider-Man gig, permanently.
So January 2026 gives us: Peter Parker fighting a god-level alien who already destroyed him once, Norman Osborn facing his own dark mirror as Spider-Man, And two massive battles that could change Spider-Man lore going forward
Good news for Lord of the Rings fans, the future of The Rings of Power is officially locked in.
Prime Video has confirmed that Season 3 of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has finished filming. The update came via a behind-the-scenes video posted to Prime Video’s Instagram. The video also gave us our first glimpse of new cast member Jamie Campbell Bower, best known as Vecna from Stranger Things. His role is being kept secret, but let’s be honest… that casting alone has people talking.
There’s no official release date yet, but Season 3 is expected to arrive late 2026 and will remain a Prime Video exclusive.

10 Years Later, Star Wars Is Basically Making a New Episode 7
A decade after The Force Awakens, Star Wars is setting up what feels like a brand-new Episode 7, and it’s all happening in the Mandoverse. The Mandalorian, Ahsoka, and The Book of Boba Fett are leading into a 2026 movie starring Mando and Grogu, plus a huge Dave Filoni film that’ll wrap up the New Republic storyline. Fans say this era has everything the sequels didn’t: prime Luke, New Republic drama, and Thrawn as a real villain. The Mandoverse is shaping up to become the “real” sequel trilogy fans wanted.
Marvel Confirms Doctor Doom’s Two Big MCU Powers
Marvel just confirmed what kind of villain Robert Downey Jr. will play as Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday, and he’s coming in with two major abilities: advanced science and powerful magic. That means he’s basically Tony Stark meets Doctor Strange, but without the hero vibes. In the comics, that combo makes Doom one of Marvel’s most dangerous characters, and the MCU is leaning into that.
This version of Doom was teased in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and he’ll be the main threat when Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters December 18, 2026, featuring a massive lineup of Avengers, X-Men, and more.
DC Unveils a Brand-New Batman Villain for 2026
Batman’s first big adventure of 2026 is introducing a brand-new villain, and she’s a twist on a classic. DC just revealed “Lady Death Man,” a deadly new assassin debuting in Batman #5 on January 7. She’s connected to the old-school villain Lord Death Man, but this version comes armed with a sword and the word “death” marked across her face.
In the issue, Bruce Wayne and Dr. Annika Zeller get targeted after her experimental invention, the Crown of Storms, puts a giant bullseye on her back. On top of Lady Death Man, Batman also has to deal with a motorcycle gang called the 000 Gang — so 2026 is kicking off with two new threats in Gotham.

James Gunn is giving fans a tease about the new DCU Batman. He said online that while people keep asking for the classic blue-and-gray suit, the yellow bat symbol, and the white eyes, he’s far more focused on three things: the character himself, the writing, and the actor who will eventually put on the cape and cowl. While Matt Reeves continues his own separate Dark Knight storyline, Gunn’s building a totally different Batman for the DCU, one who may already be working alongside his son, Damian Wayne. Gunn says the tone and style will depend heavily on the writing, which will set this version apart from past Batmen, and no casting decisions will happen until the script is finished. The movie, The Brave and the Bold, is still undated but said to be moving steadily through development.
A long-running Lord of the Rings fan theory has finally been debunked thanks to just five words buried later in the books. For years, some fans believed Gandalf’s famous line, “Fly, you fools!”, as he falls from the Bridge of Khazad-dûm was actually a secret message telling the Fellowship to hop on the Great Eagles and fly straight to Mordor. But Tolkien uses the word “fly” to simply mean “run,” and a later line from Denethor in Return of the King, “Why do the fools fly?”, uses the exact same phrasing, meaning “flee,” not “call the Eagles.” The two lines mirror each other to show how Gandalf tries to save others while Denethor drags people down with him. Tolkien himself even said the Eagles were a plot device meant to be used sparingly, not a Middle-earth Uber service. So the theory that Gandalf was sending a coded message? Fun, but officially busted.
More than 22 years after its original release, a classic Dungeons & Dragons video game is finally coming to Steam. The Temple of Elemental Evil, a 2003 RPG from Troika is getting a modern re-release on December 10. The game has survived for decades thanks to dedicated modders. Now publisher Sneg is giving it an official Steam launch with more than a thousand fixes, better AI, a cleaner interface, and tons of quality-of-life upgrades built on years of community work. With Baldur’s Gate 3 setting a high bar for D&D games, this cult classic is getting a second life, and a much smoother one.

Marvel just confirmed that one of its biggest villains is about to be more dangerous than ever, thanks to Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again on Disney Plus. Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin will be “at the height of his powers” when the new season drops in March as part of Phase 6. After declaring martial law in New York, banning vigilantes, and enforcing an 8 p.m. curfew, Wilson Fisk now has total legal control of the city — and producers say the big question is whether having everything he’s ever wanted will satisfy him, or push him to squeeze even harder. And while Kingpin is more powerful than ever on the street level, Marvel’s Phase 6 lineup is absolutely stacked with major threats coming soon, including Ultron, Magneto, Galactus, Grim Reaper, and Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom.
Star Wars just quietly changed one of the biggest Sith rules in the galaxy. A new novel called Master of Evil reworks how the famous Rule of Two actually functions, and it’s giving fans a whole new look at the dark side. The book follows Darth Vader right after Revenge of the Sith as he hunts for a way to cheat death and bring Padme back, and it reveals that the Rule of Two isn’t just about stopping the Sith from fighting each other — it’s about making the master stronger. The story explains that a Sith master literally feeds off the anger and fear of their apprentice, gaining power the more resentment and darkness the apprentice carries. That’s why Palpatine was so desperate to turn Anakin: not just for control of the Republic, but to supercharge his own dark-side abilities. The book even suggests the Sith are more powerful when they’re together.
James Gunn’s new DC Universe still hasn’t introduced its Batman, but Gotham City is already coming together — and it’s inspired by one of the best versions ever. The upcoming Clayface movie, set for 2026, will dive into the origin of the shapeshifting villain who already appeared in Creature Commandos, and writer-director Mike Flanagan says his script took major cues from the classic 1990s Batman: The Animated Series. That means Gotham will have the same moody style and emotional depth that helped shape one of the most definitive takes on Batman, and since this movie exists in the main DCU timeline, it’s essentially laying the groundwork for how the new Batman will be portrayed. The animated series balanced every side of the Dark Knight — detective, hero, and the man behind the mask — and if the DCU leans into that approach, fans might finally get a Batman who hits every note the way the cartoon did.

The Days Of The Official “Star Wars” Magazine Are Ended
In life, there are “Star Wars” fans, and then there are the “Star Wars” fans who felt the need to subscribe to the monthly “Star Wars” print magazine, “Star Wars Insider.” It’s a sad moment for the latter fans, because the days of enjoying the tactile satisfaction of holding a monthly reminder of the power of The Force in your hands are coming to an end. The run of “Star Wars Insider” will come to a close in early 2026 with issue #237. Editors say it’s been an honor “to explore a galaxy far, far away” with fellow fans, but even the power of The Force can’t compete with a market climate that makes it hard for any printed magazine to exist.
Big Changes Coming to the MCU
Looks like the Marvel Universe is about to hit the reset button. Kevin Feige says Avengers: Secret Wars will “reset” the MCU into one singular timeline… but he’s quick to add, “It’s not a reboot. Reboot’s a scary word.”
Feige says Secret Wars will wrap up everything post-Endgame and set the stage for what’s next — think “endings” turning into “beginnings.”
He also hinted this “reset” is where we’ll finally see the X-Men enter the picture, with brand-new actors taking over those iconic roles.

Marvel Zombies Reportedly Getting a Season 2 on Disney+
Marvel Studios is officially moving forward with Season 2 of “Marvel Zombies”.
The first season was a major success, topping the platform’s streaming charts and getting rave reviews and word is they’re already working on the next installment.
While there’s no official release date or plot details yet, the Season 1 finale left fans on a major cliffhanger, with the Scarlet Witch taking down the last of the heroes.
No word yet on when Season 2 will drop, but it’s safe to say: the Marvel Zombies aren’t done with us yet.
Star Wars: A New Hope Returning to IMAX for 50th Anniversary
Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope is officially coming back to theaters in IMAX for its 50th anniversary in 2027.
The re-release kicks off April 30, 2027, just before the film’s actual anniversary on May 25, 1977 — and right ahead of the new Star Wars: Starfighter.
Now here’s the big question: which version are we getting? The updated “Special Edition,” or the original, untouched cut — the one where we all argue whether Han really shot first?
Rumors online suggest a restored 4K version of the original theatrical release might finally hit the big screen, but Lucasfilm hasn’t confirmed anything yet.
The Rings of Power Season 3 Begins Filming — What We Know So Far
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is officially rolling cameras for Season 3 on Prime Video.

As for the story, Sauron is stronger than ever, holding the Nine Rings for Men and commanding his orc armies. Galadriel and Elrond are regrouping while Gandalf (yes, the Stranger finally revealed his name!) is preparing for an epic showdown with the Dark Lord himself. Expect new alliances, new enemies, and a few tragic turns.

A galaxy far, far away might be getting a do-over, and fans are losing it.
After The Rise of Skywalker, some Star Wars fans are actually calling for Disney to hit the reset button… not just on the Sequel Trilogy, but on the entire saga. Yep, that includes the Original and Prequel trilogies too.
It all started with a Reddit thread asking if fans could ever see a full Star Wars reboot. The top comments? People saying they want it. Some say Disney should take notes from Marvel, have one person in charge of continuity, start from scratch, and tell a cleaner, more connected story.
Others argue the studio should just burn it all down and build something new, no Skywalkers, no rehashing, just a fresh galaxy with new heroes and villains.
But plenty of fans think that’s pure blasphemy. Rebooting the originals, the ones with Luke, Leia, and Han, would be like repainting the Mona Lisa.
One of the most beloved D&D board games ever, Lords of Waterdeep, is finally making a comeback!
It’s been out of print for years, but Renegade Game Studios just announced a brand-new reprint hitting shelves in Spring 2026. And it’s not just the original game. The Scoundrels of Skullport expansion is coming back too!
They’re keeping everything true to the original, same art, same pieces, same rules, just brand new copies that won’t cost a small fortune on eBay anymore.
If you’ve never played it, Lords of Waterdeep is a strategy game where you secretly play as one of the city’s powerful leaders, sending adventurers on quests, earning gold, and pulling sneaky moves with “Intrigue” cards to outsmart your friends.
The reprint drops in April 2026 — $55 for the base game and $40 for the expansion.
Rumor has it that a DC vs. Marvel movie might actually be in the works… and the names attached are HUGE.
According to an insider at Comic-Con, there are real talks happening about a crossover film, with James Gunn from DC and the Russo brothers, who directed Avengers: Endgame, reportedly involved.
This comes right after the surprise announcement of a Deadpool/Batman comic crossover.
Now, James Gunn’s been asked about a DC/Marvel movie before, and he hasn’t ruled it out. He’s said it could happen someday, but only if it’s done right.

George R.R. Martin Explains “Winds Of Winter” Delay:
At New York Comic Con, “A Game of Thrones” author George R. R. Martin answered the indirect question about when “Winds of Winter,” the long-awaited continuation of the “Song of Ice and Fire” book series, will be completed. Martin shared "I know there's all this controversy about ‘Winds of Winter’ and how late it is, but I've always had trouble with deadlines and I don't feel happy breaching contracts or missing a deadline or anything like that." Part of the issue is that once he had success with “Game of Thrones,” networks and studios were clamoring for his past works that were flops and playing catch up has been a challenge. In other words, Martin will get to it when he gets to it.
Batman fans, get ready, DC is pulling out all the stops!
The next Batman movie is officially confirmed, and it’s going to feature all of the Dark Knight’s biggest villains. We’re talking Joker, Catwoman, Two-Face, Bane, the whole rogues’ gallery is coming out to play.
Now, before you get too excited for Robert Pattinson’s return, “The Batman: Part II,” got pushed back again to 2027. But don’t worry, there’s another Batman project hitting sooner.
DC just announced “Batman: Knightfall Part 1”, an animated movie dropping in 2026. It kicks off a four-part series based on one of the most famous Batman storylines ever. In it, Bane breaks Batman, literally, and unleashes every villain from Arkham Asylum.
Star Wars fans, brace yourselves, the Death Star just got a new name... and, uh, it’s not great.
In the new LEGO Star Wars special on Disney+, Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past, the galaxy’s most feared weapon isn’t called the Death Star anymore, it’s now the Battle Ball.
Yep. The Battle Ball.
The story follows a Force Builder named Sig Greebling, who accidentally messes with reality, flipping heroes into villains and villains into good guys. And in this alternate universe, Darth Rey and Darth Jyn Erso are the ones controlling the Battle Ball.
It’s all very LEGO, full of goofy action, wild mashups, and tongue-in-cheek Star Wars humor. But fans online are already saying “Battle Ball” sounds more like a playground game than a planet-destroying superweapon.
Still, the special’s packed with cameos, Grogu, Lando, Cal Kestis, and more — and even ends with a classic Star Wars-style space battle.
So yeah, the name might be a little silly… but come on, it’s LEGO, it’s supposed to be.

Prime Video’s New Batman Show Introduces Two Iconic Villains!
If you loved Batman: Caped Crusader, get ready — DC and Prime Video are teaming up again for a brand-new animated series called Bat-Fam, and it’s taking Batman in a totally different direction.
The show’s first key art just dropped, giving us a sneak peek at two big villains joining the fun: Ra’s al Ghul and Man-Bat. But this isn’t your typical dark-and-broody Gotham story — Bat-Fam is colorful, upbeat, and surprisingly wholesome.
Here’s the setup: Batman, Alfred, and Damian Wayne are learning to live together in Wayne Manor... while also sharing a home with reformed villains! One of them, Claire (aka Volcana), has just joined the family and acts as a sarcastic big sister to Damian.
Looks like Gotham’s most famous family just got a lot bigger — and a whole lot funnier.
STAR WARS FANS — REY IS BACK!
We’re finally getting more Rey Skywalker — though not quite the way you might expect.
A brand new LEGO Star Wars series just dropped on Disney Plus called LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past, and yes, Rey officially returns… but this time, she’s Darth Rey!
Helen Sadler is voicing the character instead of Daisy Ridley, which makes sense since this series is more of a fun, alternate-universe take on the Star Wars story — complete with wild team-ups, surprise cameos, and a ton of ridiculous LEGO humor.
You’ll also hear familiar voices like Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, Ashley Eckstein as Ahsoka Tano, Ahmed Best as Darth Jar Jar, and even Cameron Monaghan making his TV debut as Cal Kestis from the Jedi games.
The show has four quick episodes, all streaming now on Disney Plus.
Game of Thrones fans, get ready to head back to Westeros!
HBO just announced that A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms — the next big Game of Thrones prequel — officially lands on HBO Max in January 2026.
The show follows Ser Duncan the Tall and a young Aegon Targaryen long before Daenerys or Jon Snow ever existed. Think of it as House of the Dragon meets a medieval buddy adventure.
And here’s the really exciting part — the first trailer could drop this weekend during New York Comic Con!
HBO also released the first poster, showing Ser Duncan towering over Aegon — which feels pretty fitting for a guy literally called the Tall.

If you’ve ever wanted to relive the Battle of Hoth at your kitchen table, there’s a new board game that lets you do just that. Star Wars: Battle of Hoth takes the classic World War II-inspired game Memoir ’44 and gives it a full Star Wars makeover.
Here’s the deal:
It’s a two-player game (Rebels vs. Empire) that plays in about 30 minutes.
The gameplay is card-driven—you’ll activate units like Snowspeeders, AT-ATs, and Stormtroopers, then roll dice to see how much damage you do.
There are 17 different missions, plus optional campaign play that lets you follow the storyline or branch out depending on who wins each battle.
You can even add leaders like Han Solo or Darth Vader for special abilities.
It’s fast, dramatic, and simple enough for kids (ages 8 and up), but still fun for adults who want a lighter wargame. The only downside? Luck plays a huge role—between the dice and the cards, sometimes it feels like the Force just isn’t with you.
James Gunn, the guy steering the ship over at DC Studios, says his big master plan for the DCU has shifted a little since he first took over—but the overall story is still on track.
On a podcast this week, Gunn explained that while some projects have changed, the “big thrust” of the story is the same. He says it all starts with Superman, continues in Peacemaker, and then rolls into the next Superman movie and beyond—basically a decade-long arc.
Right now, Peacemaker season 2 is streaming, Supergirl is the next big-screen release, and projects like Lanterns and Superman: Man of Tomorrow are in the works.
George R.R. Martin fans, brace yourselves—The Winds of Winter is still stuck in Westeros winter. In a new interview, Martin said yes, he is still working on the long-awaited next book in the A Song of Ice and Fire series… but he also casually dropped that he’s writing another Dunk and Egg novel at the same time.
So, instead of finally getting the book fans have been waiting on for over 14 years, he’s dividing his attention yet again. This, despite his earlier promise that he wouldn’t start any new projects until The Winds of Winter was finished.
At this point, the question remains: will *The Winds of Winter* ever actually see the light of day?

George R.R. Martin News
Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin is in the headlines again, but not for the reason we want. He still hasn’t finished The Winds of Winter, but his new short film project The Ugly Chickens just won Best Narrative Short at the Cinequest Film Festival.
The film stars Felicia Day as a professor investigating the fate of the dodo bird.
Now, we know that fans are frustrated that Martin keeps working on side projects instead of finishing his long-awaited book. Things even got awkward at a recent panel when someone asked if he’d hand the series off to another author because, quote, “he’s probably going to die soon.” Yikes. Luckily, other authors jumped in to defend him.
Martin says The Winds of Winter is about 75% done and will be his longest book yet. And according to him, no one wants it finished more than he does.
Spider-Man 4 Villain Lineup
Looks like our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is going to have his hands full. Reports say Spider-Man 4: Brand New Day will feature not one, not two, but six villains for Tom Holland’s Spidey to face.
On the list? Crime boss Tombstone, poison-spike-wielding Tarantula, the weaponized ex–baseball player Boomerang, returning baddie Scorpion (this time with his full suit), half-man half-cyborg Ramrod, and even Savage Hulk is rumored to show up as an enemy instead of an ally.
The movie also brings back Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Ned, plus some surprise allies like Jon Bernthal’s Punisher and Stranger Things’ Sadie Sink in a new role.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to hit theaters July 31, 2026.
Game of Thrones History in 2026
HBO has confirmed that 2026 will be the biggest year in franchise history. For the first time ever, we’re getting two Thrones spinoffs in the same year. In January 2026, we’ll see the debut of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, based on George R.R. Martin’s “Dunk and Egg” novellas. Then later that spring or summer, House of the Dragon will return for its third season.

KEVIN FEIGE’S 17-YEAR MCU DREAM IS ABOUT TO PAY OFF
Marvel boss Kevin Feige has been building toward one big goal for nearly 20 years, and it’s finally happening in December 2027. That’s when Avengers: Secret Wars hits theaters, bringing the Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Spider-Man all together on one timeline for the first time.
Feige has said from the beginning his dream was to make the movies feel like reading the comics, where all the characters live in the same world. Disney’s deal to acquire Fox gave Marvel back the X-Men and Fantastic Four, but so far, they’ve only shown up through the Multiverse. After Secret Wars, Feige says fans can expect a “reset” and a “singular timeline” that sets up the MCU’s future.
And here’s the kicker, he even hinted that characters like Iron Man and Captain America could one day return, just like comic book heroes do. So yeah… 2027 is shaping up to be Marvel’s biggest year yet.
DUNGEONS & DRAGONS JUST GOT A BOARD GAME UPGRADE
Wizards of the Coast is shaking things up with their brand-new Heroes of the Borderlands starter set, and it looks a little different from what longtime players might expect.
For the first time, D&D is adding “Class Boards”, basically a board game-style version of your character sheet. Instead of juggling papers and rulebooks, each class gets its own board with slots for cards, trackers for abilities, and tokens for spells, weapons, and armor. It’s all designed to make the game more visual, more tactile, and way less overwhelming for first-time players.
The boards even grow with your character, covering levels 1 through 3, so new adventurers can get the hang of leveling up without digging through a bunch of charts. Sure, it’s not built for high-level play, but for beginners, this could be a game-changer.
The Heroes of the Borderlands starter set is up for pre-order now, and if you’ve ever thought about trying D&D but didn’t know where to start, this might be the easiest way in.

STAR WARS HITS THE RESET BUTTON
Lucasfilm is changing course. After years of flooding Disney+ with shows like The Mandalorian, Andor, and Ahsoka, they’re pumping the brakes on streaming and steering Star Wars back to the big screen.
The studio says they’re shifting from “quantity” to “quality,” focusing on theatrical releases that feel like true events. First up: The Mandalorian & Grogu in May 2026. Then, in 2027, Star Wars: Starfighter starring Ryan Gosling
On the Disney+ side, the lineup is much slimmer than before…just Ahsoka Season 2, The Ninth Jedi spinoff, and a Darth Maul animated series are confirmed.
Why the switch? Streaming growth has slowed, movies are once again pulling in the big bucks, and Lucasfilm wants Star Wars to feel like a cultural event again.
A PEEK INSIDE THE SACRED JEDI TEXTS
The official Star Wars website just cracked open one of the most mysterious props from The Last Jedi: Luke Skywalker’s sacred Jedi texts.
These are the ancient books we saw Luke protecting, the ones Rey ends up with by the end of the sequel trilogy. For the movies, the prop team actually designed 40 different books, but only 10 were picked for filming…and just one ever made it onscreen. That one took about two weeks to make and included not just the page we saw in theaters, but several others that were never shown…until now.
StarWars.com just dropped images of the interiors and concept art, giving fans their first real look at the pages of Jedi history. And of course, the big question is: will these texts show up again when Daisy Ridley returns as Rey in the upcoming film about the New Jedi Order?
BATMAN GOES AZTEC…AND HIS VILLAINS TEAM UP
Batman’s next movie is flipping the script in a big way…and it’s not even Bruce Wayne under the mask.
Coming September 18th, Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires is an animated film set during the Aztec Empire. Instead of Gotham, we follow a young man who becomes his version of the Dark Knight after his father’s murder.
Everyone is reimagined…Two-Face isn’t Harvey Dent, he’s Hernán Cortés, leader of the conquistadors. Catwoman is Jaguar Woman, the one who scars his face. The Joker? He’s Yoka, a priest who falls into madness.
Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires lands September 18th—and fans are already saying it could turn the Dark Knight legend on its head.

Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash are reprising their roles, with Ackles’ Soldier Boy at the center of the story and Cash’s Stormfront appearing under her original name, Clara Vought. The series is described as a “twisted murder mystery” drenched in blood and Compound V.
We’ll also see Torpedo, Private Angel, and Bombsightr. Production kicks off this month, though there’s no release date yet.
Vought Rising joins a growing lineup of spinoffs, including Gen V, the animated The Boys Presents: Diabolical, and the upcoming The Boys: Mexico.

Star Wars: Visions Will Show the Jedi Rebuilding, Something the Sequels Skipped
The sequel trilogy skipped one story Star Wars fans were dying to see, how the Jedi Order was rebuilt after the fall. Now Star Wars: Visions season 3 is stepping in with “The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope,” a follow-up to the popular season 1 episode. It’ll show an attempt to restore the Jedi while the Sith try to stop it, with a full Ninth Jedi spinoff series coming in 2026. It’s not canon and won’t feature Luke Skywalker, but it’s the closest Star Wars has come to showing the Jedi’s big comeback on screen.

The book promises to bring back fan favorites like Yord Fandar and Jecki Lon while diving deeper into the mysterious Sith lore teased in the show. Supergirl vs. Superman: What’s the Difference?
Supergirl returns to theaters in 2026, following a tease in 2025’s Superman movie. But is she just Superman’s female version? Not quite.
Superman debuted in 1938; Supergirl arrived in 1959 as his cousin Kara Zor-El. While Superman was raised human on Earth, Supergirl came as a Kryptonian teen with less experience.
Powers: Both share flight, super strength, speed, invulnerability, heat vision, and more. However, Superman is stronger, having absorbed more of Earth’s yellow sun over time.
Unique to Supergirl: She can form protective crystals and recently gained a rage-powered Red Lantern ring, giving her new abilities Superman doesn’t have.
Though connected, they follow different paths as heroes, Superman is Earth’s seasoned protector, while Supergirl is still growing into her powers.

“The Last of Us” – Neil Druckmann is stepping back to focus on video games, but Craig Mazin is running the show. Season 3 is aiming for 2027, and it’s undecided if it’ll be the last. Pedro Pascal’s role is done, Bella Ramsey’s screen time is a mystery, but they say the brand is strong enough to handle cast changes.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 2, 2025
The script for DC's “The Batman Part II” is finally done. While plot details remain under wraps, some fans are speculating that the film may draw from the “Batman: No Man’s Land” comic arc, because of the flood that happened in the first movie. That storyline could bring in villains like Clayface, the Ventriloquist, and possibly the Joker, who was seen in a deleted scene played by Barry Keoghan. Despite two release delays and years of rumors, the announcement has given fans new hope and hype. “The Batman Part II” is set to hit theaters on October 1, 2027.
Star Wars fans are buzzing over a new Han Solo prequel comic from Marvel. Hunt for the Falcon follows Han and Chewbacca on a quest to find the Millennium Falcon after it’s stolen by the villain Gannis Ducain. The five-part series brings back fan favorites like Lando Calrissian and adds some fresh action. New covers tease battles with spider-like creatures and high-speed speeder chases, plus Han and C-3PO dodging droid gunfire. Fans are already speculating this will fill in what Han and Chewie were up to right before they reappear in the movies. Hunt for the Falcon #1 hits shelves September 3, 2025.

The Batman 2 Script Update: James Gunn Sets the Record Straight
There’s been some buzz about The Batman 2 script arriving soon, but James Gunn just put those rumors to rest. The movie was expected in October 2027. Last week, word was that director Matt Reeves would deliver the script by June 23, 2025. Gunn quickly denied that on social media, saying that’s not happening. Still, Gunn’s optimistic. He told Entertainment Weekly that they’re supposed to get the script sometime in June and that Matt Reeves just needs the time to do it right. No plot details have been revealed yet, but The Batman and the Penguin spin-off are streaming now on Max if you want to catch up.
Game of Thrones’ New Spinoff Breaks Fantasy TV Trends, And That’s a Good Thing
Game of Thrones changed TV forever, sparking a wave of epic fantasy shows like The Witcher, The Rings of Power, and House of the Dragon. But many of those have struggled or gotten canceled, like The Wheel of Time and Shadow & Bone. Now enter A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, the next Game of Thrones spinoff. Instead of huge battles and kingdoms at stake, it’s a smaller, more personal story about Dunk, a hedge knight, and his squire Egg. The show will be six episodes, lighter in tone, and focused on character over spectacle. Some say this shift could be exactly what the genre needs right now. It’s more contained, less costly, and explores the human side of the medieval world Martin is known for. Think of it like what Andor did for Star Wars, a fresh, different take within a beloved universe. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms debuts early 2026 on HBO and HBO Max.

Din Djarin’s Comeback: Why ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’ Will Finally Bring Back the Warrior We Missed
Let’s be honest, Din Djarin hasn’t felt like the same since The Mandalorian Season 2. After winning the Darksaber and taking down Moff Gideon, his edge dulled. He needed help more often, struggled in battle, and never quite looked like the unstoppable force we met in Season 1. But that’s about to change. Footage from The Mandalorian & Grogu shown at Star Wars Celebration Japan promises a return to form. Din storms an AT-AT, wipes out a squad of Imperials, and later dominates a bar fight like he’s straight out of Season 1. And it couldn’t come at a better time. With Din now working off-the-books for the New Republic, he’s got to handle threats solo, and that means being a one-man army again. The Mandalorian & Grogu hits theaters May 22, 2026.

Mark Hamill Says He's Done Doing "Star Wars"
Mark Hamill has confirmed he has no plans to return as Luke Skywalker in future “Star Wars” projects, not even as a Force ghost. “I had my time. I’m appreciative of that. But I really think they should focus on the future and all the new characters,” Hamill tells “ComicBook.com.” His comments come as Lucasfilm is working on a film centered on Daisy Ridley’s Rey, set after “The Rise of Skywalker.” That film will follow Rey’s efforts to rebuild the Jedi Order based on Luke’s teachings, so some fans had assumed Luke could pop up in some form, whether that be as a Force ghost or as a flash back.
Ruffalo’s Hulk Crashes Spider-Man’s Next Movie
Mark Ruffalo is bringing the Hulk back, but not in his own movie. Instead, he’s set to show up in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Fans are buzzing, but it feels like Marvel’s just tossing darts at a board to see which characters haven’t teamed up yet. It’s being hyped as a big moment. Hulk hasn’t had a solo film since 2008
Why Can’t Stormtroopers Aim? Turns Out, They Can
It’s one of the oldest Star Wars jokes out there, Imperial stormtroopers couldn’t hit the broad side of a bantha. But there's actually a solid reason, and it’s been hiding in plain sight since A New Hope.
Remember when Luke and the gang escape the Death Star way too easily? That’s because they were supposed to. Leia even says it aloud, and sure enough, the Empire had planted a tracker on the Millennium Falcon to lead them to the Rebel base.
So all that bad aim? Not incompetence, orders. The stormtroopers were missing on purpose. And when they do want to hit something, like in the opening scene on the Tantive IV, they’re deadly accurate.

Big Win for Rings of Power, While Wheel of Time Gets the Axe
Amazon is betting big on The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, again. While The Wheel of Time just got canceled, Rings of Power is now being offered for syndication. That means you might start seeing it pop up outside of Prime Video.
The studio behind it, Amazon MGM, says they’re expecting “top dollar” for it, after all, it was the biggest premiere in Prime Video history. Other Amazon shows like Citadel, Countdown (starring Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles), and Butterfly are also heading toward syndication deals.
Meanwhile, Rings of Power Season 3 is in the works, with a time jump and a focus on the big war between the Elves and Sauron.
Live-Action Voltron Wraps Filming, But Still No Release Date
The live-action Voltron movie starring Henry Cavill has officially wrapped filming, and fans are pumped.

The cast is stacked: Cavill plays King Alfor, joined by Sterling K. Brown as King Zarkon, Rita Ora as Witch Haggar, and Alba Baptista as Princess Allura.
Here’s the catch, there’s still no release date, and no confirmed premiere plan. Rumor is it’ll skip theaters and land straight on Prime Video, possibly in early 2026.
‘The Last of Us’ Finale Snuck in a Game of Thrones Easter Egg
Did you catch it? During the Season 2 finale of The Last of Us, eagle-eyed fans spotted a subtle nod to Game of Thrones, and it’s one only true superfans would've noticed.
In the final scene, after the intense showdown between Ellie and Abby, the show flashes back to Abby resting on a couch, book on her chest. That book? City of Thieves by Game of Thrones writer David Benioff.
The detail mirrors a scene from The Last of Us Part II video game and nods to the crossover love between the two shows. Not surprising, since Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey starred in both, and series creator Craig Mazin has said GoT was a major influence.

George R.R. Martin has addressed fan frustration over the delay of The Winds of Winter, the long-awaited sixth book in the A Song of Ice and Fire series. He admits the book is 13 years late but insists he’s still working on it, despite frequent distractions like HBO deadlines and other ventures.
Responding to criticism that he’s too busy with side projects, Martin said owning a bookstore or theatre doesn’t mean he’s running them day to day.
Martin added he gets frustrated by assumptions that he's not writing. “Just because I invested in something doesn’t mean I’m managing it,” he explained.
He remains hopeful for progress, noting there are stretches where he gets a lot done—just not as fast as fans might like.
Why There’s Not More K-2SO in Andor (Yet)
If you’ve been wondering why we haven’t seen much of K-2SO in Andor Season 2, there’s a reason. Showrunners say the beloved snarky droid is “spectacular” when he does show up, but that having a giant, reprogrammed Imperial robot tagging along kind of messes with the story.
Basically, K-2SO is a scene-stealer and a logistical headache. They say it’s tough to keep him in the action without constantly hiding him or sidelining him, which they had to do a lot in Rogue One. But don’t worry, when he finally makes his entrance this season, it’ll be worth the wait.

Top 10 Cantrips in D&D That You’ll Actually Use
Cantrips might not get all the flashy fanfare, but if you’re playing Dungeons & Dragons, they’re your bread and butter. These zero-cost spells don’t use up spell slots, which makes them perfect when you’re low on resources. Here are ten cantrips that consistently deliver:
Fans Chant for More as Manny Jacinto Shines in The Acolyte
Star Wars fans really aren’t ready to say goodbye to The Acolyte.
Manny Jacinto, aka the mysterious Stranger, made a surprise appearance at Star Wars Celebration in Japan, and the crowd went wild. As his interview wrapped, fans erupted into chants for season two. And online the vibe is the same. While Disney hasn’t announced anything, the fan buzz around Jacinto’s character is louder than ever.
Red Wedding Survivor Returns in Winds of Winter, Could Debunk Robb Stark Baby Theory
The Winds of Winter will bring back Jeyne Westerling, Robb Stark’s book-wife who survived the Red Wedding. George R.R. Martin confirmed she’ll appear in the prologue, which could shut down the long-standing theory that she’s secretly pregnant with Robb’s child. In A Feast for Crows, it’s revealed Jeyne’s mother gave her potions to prevent pregnancy, making the theory unlikely. Her return may also clear up fan speculation that Jaime Lannister didn’t actually meet the real Jeyne, another lingering mystery Martin might finally put to rest.

Marvel’s Thunderbolts is shaking things up—it's the first non-sequel to drop in Marvel’s coveted May release slot since The Avengers in 2012. That’s a big deal. Why does it matter? Marvel saves May for blockbusters they believe will crush it at the box office. So giving Thunderbolts that spot says they’ve got serious faith in this anti-hero squad. Led by Bucky Barnes and starring Yelena Belova, U.S. Agent, and more, this isn't your typical superhero team. And with many of these characters set to return in Avengers: Doomsday, this movie could be a major setup for Marvel’s next phase. Bottom line: Marvel’s betting big on Thunderbolts. It’s edgy, different, and could be their next big thing.
Star Wars fans are just now realizing that only one non-droid character appeared in all three trilogies, and no, it’s not Luke, Leia, or even the Emperor (that whole cloning thing doesn’t count). It’s Chewbacca. Yep, the loyal Wookiee has been there since A New Hope, made it through the prequels via Revenge of the Sith, and stuck around all the way through the sequels. That makes him the only flesh-and-blood character to appear across the original, prequel, and sequel trilogies. Others came close, Lando showed up in the sequels and his younger self was in Solo, but he’s missing from the prequels. Mon Mothma? She’s presumed dead by the time of the sequels. So if you’re keeping score, Chewie is the last non-droid standing. Let the Wookiee win.

Demon Slayer fans, today’s a good day to fire up Crunchyroll. The streaming service just dropped five feature-length recap episodes of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba perfect for fans wanting a refresher or newcomers looking to dive in. These new additions help build excitement ahead of the Infinity Castle movie, which hits theaters on September 12.
Marvel just dropped a big reveal in its latest promo for Thunderbolts—and it’s a dark one. We finally know the villain’s name: “The Void,” a powerful character is also known as “Sentry,” a Superman-level force with a dangerous split personality. In the comics, Sentry is a man who gains immense powers from a twisted version of the super soldier serum, but also unleashes an evil alter ego called the Void. In the trailer, we hear him declare, “I am the Void,” and he’s described as “stronger than all of the Avengers.” Thunderbolts hits theaters May 2, and tickets are on sale now.
Ever wonder why Gollum, who was totally obsessed with the One Ring, never actually wore it in The Lord of the Rings movies? Turns out, there’s a surprisingly sad reason behind it. Fans have pointed out that while Sméagol is briefly seen wearing the Ring during a flashback, Gollum himself never puts it on during The Hobbit or LOTR films. You’d think someone that attached would want it on 24/7. Well, there’s actually a line in The Hobbit novel that clears things up: “Gollum used to wear it at first, till it tired him; and then he kept it in a pouch next to his skin, till it called him…” Basically, wearing the Ring physically hurt him. So while he did still look at it and occasionally put it on, by the time we see him in The Fellowship of the Ring, the Ring had already taken such a toll that he couldn't even stand to wear it anymore.

Hulk Wasn’t Always Green—A Printing Mistake Made Marvel History
The Hulk’s signature green color wasn’t part of the original plan. When Stan Lee and Jack Kirby introduced the character, Bruce Banner’s monstrous alter ego was supposed to be gray. However, inconsistent printing caused his skin to appear in various shades, leading Lee to officially make Hulk green, a decision that defined the character’s look forever. This accidental change shaped Hulk’s legacy, inspiring other color variations like Red Hulk and Gray Hulk.

DnD’s New Monsters Hit Harder—40% Harder

According to this guys research, nearly 75% of updated monsters deal more damage per round, especially at higher challenge ratings. HP have increased slightly, and initiative now scales faster, which means monsters strike first more often.
Most of the extra damage comes from legendary creatures. And some DM’s are welcoming the boost—especially after the 2024 Player’s Handbook powered up PCs.

If you’ve ever faced A Carrion Crawler in Dungeons & Dragons, you know its paralyzing tentacles could ruin your day. Basically, if you got paralyzed, you were stuck… like, the whole fight. Well, good news! Wizards of the Coast heard the cries of frustrated players and dropped an update to fix it. Adamantium Arrives in the MCU – But It’s Not Like the Comics
Captain America: Brave New World just dropped and fans are buzzing about one major reveal: adamantium is officially in the MCU. You know, the nearly indestructible metal covering Wolverine’s skeleton? Yeah, that one. But its origin is way different from the comics. In the movie, adamantium is found on the frozen Celestial from Eternals (remember that giant sticking out of the ocean?). Governments are scrambling to mine it, hoping it can rival Wakanda’s vibranium. In the comics, though? Adamantium is man-made—a secret government alloy cooked up right here on Earth. This change sets up some big things for the future—new political tensions, weapon races, and maybe even Doctor Doom getting his hands on it. Plus, with X-Men coming to the MCU after Avengers: Secret Wars, we’re all wondering—when will Wolverine show up, and what does this mean for Weapon X?

What’s the Deal with the Asterisk in Thunderbolts*?
Why the asterisk in the Thunderbolts title? Well, mystery solved! Thanks to new posters released during Super Bowl LIX, we now know it stands for: "The Avengers are not available." The movie, set to hit theaters May 2, follows a team of antiheroes—including Yelena Belova, Winter Soldier, and US Agent—who are stepping in to fill the void left by Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. The tagline hints at the government scrambling to put together a new team in the Avengers' absence. But could there be more to it? Some fans suspect the team won’t even keep the Thunderbolts name by the film’s end, possibly evolving into the Dark Avengers. With Marvel keeping tight-lipped until release, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Star Wars’ Rey Movie Draws Inspiration from George Lucas’ Political Themes
Lucasfilm has struggled to bring Star Wars back to the big screen, but with The Mandalorian & Grogu wrapped and Daisy Ridley set to return as Rey, momentum is building. Writers confirmed that the movie will take significant inspiration from George Lucas’ original trilogy, particularly its political themes. Star Wars has always explored the rise of authoritarianism, from the Empire’s rise to the Republic’s downfall. They aim to integrate these themes without making the film feel like a lecture, using sci-fi to explore deep issues in an engaging way. How this political focus will shape Rey’s new story remains to be seen, but it raises the question: Will the new films introduce another authoritarian force, or take the story in a fresh direction?
Scientists Create Real-Life Spider-Man Webbing
A breakthrough at Tufts University’s Silklab has brought Spider-Man’s webbing to life. A researcher has developed a silk fiber capable of catching objects from 30–35 cm away and lifting 15–20 grams. Inspired by spider silk, the fiber solidifies instantly, mimicking Spidey’s web-slinging. While not swinging between buildings yet, researchers see potential applications in underwater retrieval, drone technology, and even tagging sharks. They’re working with nonprofits to refine the material. They say the silk’s ejecting mechanism resembles Spider-Man’s original web-shooters from Amazing Fantasy #15.

Mace Windu’s purple lightsaber is one of the coolest details in Star Wars. In the lore, the purple blade symbolizes Windu’s unique mastery of the Force. He’s a Jedi who can channel aggression and darkness without falling to the dark side—a balance that makes him one of the Jedi Council’s most powerful members.
Behind the scenes, though, the story is a bit more straightforward. Samuel L. Jackson, who plays Mace, asked for a purple lightsaber because it’s his favorite color and he wanted to stand out during the massive Geonosian battle in Attack of the Clones. George Lucas agreed, and the rest is history.
Wolverine’s Adamantium claws are iconic, but now they’re up against something even more powerful: Adamantine, the "Metal of the Gods." In Marvel’s current Wolverine comic series, this mysterious new metal is on a mission to purge the “false metal” Adamantium from the world.

Later, when Lady Deathstrike’s Adamantium claws clash with Cyber, the Adamantine spreads over her body like liquid, taking control of her.
The stakes are rising as Wolverine, Nightcrawler, and Laura Kinney’s Wolverine prepare to face foes transformed by Adamantine. This powerful metal, tied to mythological relics like Hercules’ Golden Mace, might even outmatch Logan’s legendary claws.

The Rings of Power Teases New Dark Wizard Twist
In a recent Q&A, The Rings of Power showrunners revealed that the Dark Wizard in season two is likely one of the Blue Wizards, not Saruman as fans speculated. This character’s arc could emphasize Gandalf’s unique virtue among the Istari, as he remained true to his mission against Sauron. Star Wars Theory Links Anakin Skywalker and the Mortis Gods
A new theory suggests Anakin Skywalker’s “Chosen One” prophecy might be tied to the mysterious Mortis Gods introduced in The Clone Wars. The Mortis Gods represent the Force’s dark side (the Son), light side (the Daughter), and balance (the Father), and may redefine Anakin’s role in the prophecy. In Ahsoka’s season 1 finale, a scene hinted at a deeper connection, suggesting Anakin was destined to bring balance by embodying the Father, not just destroying the Sith. This theory could unfold in Ahsoka season 2, where Anakin’s Force ghost may ultimately take on the Father’s role alongside Ahsoka and Baylan as the Daughter and Son.

James Gunn recently addressed the uncertainty surrounding some announced DCU projects, saying that not every title will necessarily be made. While all announced projects are in development, he said that final decisions depend on the quality of the scripts and that he’d never put a bad script into production just because it was announced. His DCU Chapter One: Gods and Monsters was first revealed in 2023. Projects include Superman: Legacy, The Brave and the Bold, and Peacemaker season 2, but updates on several titles have been sparse. Superman is set to hit theaters on July 11, 2025.

As Marvel gears up for Avengers: Doomsday, fans are debating which heroes will make the cut. With so many characters in the MCU, it's unlikely that everyone will get screen time, sparking speculation about the final lineup. Some are predicting the main roster includes Captain America, Thor, Spider-Man, Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Ant-Man, Doctor Strange, and Star-Lord. However, some are disappointed that newer heroes like Shang-Chi or characters from Disney+ shows are being left out. Others are looking forward to the inclusion of the Fantastic Four, as Doctor Doom is expected to play a major role. The lineup may shift before the follow-up, Avengers: Secret Wars, is released.
The newly released 2024 Dungeons & Dragons Player’s Handbook has sparked a lot of controversy due to changes in the character creation system, particularly the handling of Backgrounds. Some argue that the new rules reverse the progress made by Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything in 2020, which introduced more flexible options for character building by allowing you to assign racial ability bonuses freely. The updated rules tie ability score increases to specific Backgrounds, such as Farmer or Noble, which some fans see as a form of classism, with Nobles inherently receiving more favorable abilities. A lot of players are disappointed that the flexible character creation options introduced in recent years seem to have been abandoned in favor of a more restrictive system.

Though no official plans have been confirmed, the potential for Windu’s return—possibly in a series—is at least on the table.

New D&D Player’s Handbook Hailed as a Masterpiece
The newly released Dungeons & Dragons Player’s Handbook (2024) is being praised as a standout achievement for the GAME. Despite a rocky development the guide is a treasure trove for both new and veteran players.
Featuring 10 species, 12 classes, and 48 subclasses, it’s a significant upgrade from its predecessor. The book’s layout, art, and user-friendly design are also receiving high marks, making it more accessible to newcomers while delighting longtime fans with Easter eggs and engaging visuals.
While the physical version of the handbook shines, some are saying the digital experience on D&D Beyond falls short, lacking the same polish.
Players are encouraged to grab the print edition, which may be the best the franchise has ever offered.
Fans are calling this release a high-water mark for D&D, and many believe we may never see its equal again.
‘The Hunt for Gollum’ May Be Split into Two Films, Worrying Fans
The upcoming Lord of the Rings prequel, The Hunt for Gollum, could be split into two movies. Ian McKellen said something about it in a recent interview and that has fans concerned that Warner Bros. may repeat the mistakes of The Hobbit trilogy, which stretched a single book into three films, leading to a bloated narrative. With The Hunt for Gollum being based on an even slimmer piece of Tolkien lore, many are questioning whether the story can justify two films.

As the new edition of Dungeons & Dragons rolls out, here are five key rules you should familiarize yourself with.
1. Weapon Mastery - Fighters and Barbarians now have access to Weapon Mastery properties, special abilities tied to specific weapons. These powers aren’t automatic; you need a class feature or feat to unlock them, and you can change them after a Long Rest.
2. Backgrounds Boost Stats - Character backgrounds now determine which stats you can increase. You’ll get a choice of three stats, but you can only distribute bonuses (+2/+1 or +1/+1/+1) to those specified by your background.
3. One Spell with a Spell Slot Per Turn - You can only cast one spell using a spell slot per turn, even if you have extra actions. The exception? You can still cast Cantrips or spells that don’t require slots.
4. Unwilling Targets Are Harder to Persuade - Social interactions now have clearer mechanics. If a target is Unwilling, no matter how high you roll, they won’t be persuaded or deceived.
5. Rules Glossary Is Key If you’re searching for a rule, check Appendix C. The Rules Glossary contains most of the details you'll need, organized alphabetically for quick reference.

Disney has made significant changes to its Star Wars lineup, canceling plans to bring back Boba Fett and axing The Acolyte after just one season. Temuera Morrison, who portrayed Boba Fett, revealed that the character was initially set to return in The Mandalorian Season 4, but those plans were dropped in favor of a new Mandalorian and Grogu movie. Morrison also noted that a second season of The Book of Boba Fett seems unlikely due to mixed reviews and low viewership, along with Disney’s $4 billion loss on streaming.

While subtle, these adjustments point to a broader evolution in how the game will be played, offering a fresh experience for D&D fans.
The Rings of Power Season 2 is introducing the Stoors, a pre-Hobbit race, following the controversial inclusion of the Harfoots in Season 1.
