It’s official: Clint Eastwood, 96, has retired, his son says - When Clint Eastwood released his last movie, “Juror No. 2,” in 2024, the longtime Carmel-by-the-Sea resident, four-time Oscar winner and mainstay of American cinema skipped the premiere, raising speculation that he was finally ready to retire. After all, he was 94.  Now, two years later, Eastwood’s son has confirmed that his father has in fact “retired.” In an interview with France Info, Kyle Eastwood revealed that his father had stopped working - Eastwood’s IMDB page shows no upcoming projects for him as a director or actor. He’s listed as a producer for a reported remake of his 1977 action-thriller, “The Gauntlet,” which would star Tom Cruise and Scarlett Johansson. The film was announced in 2024, but there is no further information available about its production.

Netflix To Debut FIFA Video Game Attached To Real World World Cup Results - World Cup fever is coming to Netflix. The streaming platform is leaning into its focus on video games and the world's obsession with "The Beautiful Game" with a new offering. "FIFA World Cup Launch Edition" is being described as a "streamlined football simulation game" that only requires having Netflix pulled up on your TV and a phone to act as your controller. The game will be release alongside the kickoff of the real-life FIFA Men’s World Cup on June 11, and will allow users to play as any of the 48 teams in the tournament, at any of the 16 real-world stadiums, and take control of any of the 1,248 players in the Cup. Netflix says the game will be updated daily throughout the World Cup with new challenges and features tied into the real events and results of the tournament.

"Meatballs" Gets Series Adaptation With "Heated Rivalry" Star - “Heated Rivalry” star Robbie G.K. is set to star in Bell Media’s new series adaptation of "Meatballs." Bell executive Justin Stockman said the classic comedy was “hard to nail down” but that the team has finally secured the rights and can “bring it back and modernize it.” The updated take will feature changes such as gender role reversals while remaining “racy and funny, with a great script,” according to Stockman. Inspired by the 1979 film that helped launch the careers of Bill Murray and Ivan Reitman, the series follows life at a struggling summer camp. G.K.’s casting is no coincidence, as Stockman shares “part of the strategy is trying to look at globally-known Canadians and work with them to elevate what people think of Canadian content around the world.” The series is currently set for eight parts.
