"Happy Death Day" Star Says 3rd Film Is Ready Just Needs Funding - Jessica Rothe is ready to return as Tree Gelbman for a third installment of the “Happy Death Day" franchise, but she says the project still needs financial backing. Speaking to “Deadline,” Rothe revealed that she and franchise writer-director Christopher Landon “broke the third movie” and have already mapped out the story. The actress shared their sneaky process saying, “We went to an undisclosed location… in between our houses, and sat there for hours and broke the third movie.” Rothe added that they are “just waiting for Universal and Blumhouse to give us just a little money.” The original “Happy Death Day" premiered in 2017, followed by “Happy Death Day 2U” in 2019, with both films starring Rothe and becoming a slasher staple film.

Elon Musk Documentary Premiere Date Moved Up Due To Overwhelming Demand - An upcoming documentary about Elon Musk has generated so much interest that its premiere is being moved up. It was announced yesterday that "Musk" will now hit theaters October 9, a week earlier than previously announced. After the October 9 debut in New York and Los Angeles, it will expand to theaters nationwide. The film runs almost four hours with an intermission, and reviewers have called it "the takedown (Musk) richly deserves." As for Elon's take on the doc, he said on X that director Alex Gibney was a "bitter old man who lost the plot long ago" and branded him a "horrible human."

Salma Hayek To Make Theatrical Directorial Debut With Forbidden Romance "Arena" - Salma Hayek will make her theatrical directorial debut with “Arena,” an epic romantic adventure that she also happens to have written. The film stars Yura Borisov and Cara Delevingne and is currently shooting in Mexico. Speaking with “Variety,” Hayek describes it as a “forbidden love story” centered on love, desire, and finding pleasure in simple things. She also praised the “spectacular locations” in Quintana Roo and Veracruz, saying she’s excited to reveal their “hidden jewels” to the world.

"Friday the 13th" Prequel Series "Crystal Lake" Trailer Drops - Peacock has dropped the full trailer for “Crystal Lake,” their “Friday the 13th” prequel series. Linda Cardellini stars as Pamela Voorhees, with the story exploring her life before and after her son Jason’s drowning. The tragedy sends Pamela down a bloody path fueled by grief and revenge. Cardenilli previously teased in an interview with “Variety” that “It does get gory, yes, so much so that I wish sometimes they weren’t as practical as they were. There are a couple of gory moments on set that were very practical that were pretty gross. Blood everywhere.” The series also stars Callum Vinson, Nick Cordileone, Joy Suprano, Danielle Kotch, and Phoenix Parnevik. "Crystal Lake" premiers on October 15th.

Mikayla Matthews Quits "Mormon Wives" - In a surprise move, Mikayla Matthews has announced that she's leaving "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives." She shared the news in a social media post as the cast was recently seen in Italy filming Season 6 of the reality series. "I made my decision over a week ago, after hearing some news, that I will not be continuing the show at this moment," Matthews posted on Instagram. "I’ve said from the beginning of this that I’m not comfortable being a part of something that continues to platform behavior I don’t agree especially given my own experience growing up in a home with multiple forms of abuse." She continued, "There’s no amount of money worth going against my morals or changing the stance I’ve had since I first saw and heard the things that made me feel this strongly. And for me personally, continuing to directly profit from this behavior feels wrong and unethical. It feels like a disservice to the children, everyone’s healing and the millions of people watching." There is speculation that the decision comes after on and off-screen friction between Matthews and Taylor Frankie Paul, who clashed after domestic violence allegations from Paul’s ex, Dakota Mortensen.

"The Shards" TV Series Is Getting A Soundtrack - The hit FX/Hulu series "The Shards" is getting a soundtrack album. Ryan Murphy‘s adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis‘ classic novel, set in 1980s Los Angeles, aired its first season finale last week. Hayden Panettiere May Have Taken Fentanyl-Laced Pill Before Death - Authorities are investigating whether Hayden Panettiere took an oxycodone pill laced with fentanyl before her death at 36. Law enforcement sources spilled to "TMZ" that they are reportedly investigating a Los Angeles drug dealer who allegedly supplied her with black-market prescription drugs.  The DEA is hoping to trace the suspected pill to the dealer, though further action may depend on toxicology results. Panettiere was found unresponsive at a South Carolina Airbnb on August 16th, with Narcan reportedly discovered at the scene.

Oprah Announces “Immersive Experience” At The Sphere - Oprah Winfrey is taking her decades-long message of self-discovery to Las Vegas with a new immersive experience, “Oprah Winfrey’s AHA,” coming to the Sphere in April. The two-hour multimedia production will combine music, film and sensory effects, with Winfrey calling it “the culmination of everything I’ve tried to say for years.”  Inspired by seeing U2 perform at the Sphere in 2023, Winfrey said, “This could be one of the most magnificent opportunities” to “take people to the edge of space and allow them to see their connection to the universe, and to themselves, and to each other.” The show will feature artists including Jacob Collier, Ocean Vuong and Ajeet, while the creative talents behind Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour” will help bring the production to life.  Rather than relying on her celebrity friends to create buzz, Winfrey explained, “It’s not about star power. It’s about the power of the people in the audience,” emphasizing that the experience is ultimately “about you.” With four performances scheduled for April 2nd, 3rd and 4th, Winfrey hopes audiences will leave feeling connected and inspired, saying, “you will be filled with awe and wonder, and you will leave with a great sense of joy.” Describing the project as part of how she hopes to “leave her mark,” Winfrey added, “This experience for me is about reminding people that [the light inside is] always, always there.” Tickets range from $145 to $395 each and hit general on-sale on September 25th.

His death was announced on his Instagram; "He lived his 87 years to the fullest, fulfilling his dream of being a Fashion and Costume Designer, which is all he ever wanted to do."  He broke through as costume designer for "The Carol Burnett Show," before moving on to "The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour" and becoming a legendary figure in fashion.

West End Musical Shuts Down After Ariana Grande, Jonathan Bailey Exit: After both Ariana Grande and Jonathan Bailey exited the production, it was decided that the show doesn't have to go on after all. It was announced yesterday that the London revival of "Sunday in the Park With George" has been canceled. On the show's X account, a post read, "The planned 2027 production of Sunday in the Park with George at the Barbican will no longer proceed as scheduled. Empire Street Productions will retain the rights with a view to presenting the production in 2028. Further details will be announced in due course." Grande backed out of the production last month after expressing a desire to step out of the spotlight; Bailey followed suit earlier this month.

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Inch Towards Official Royal Security: It would appear that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are making progress in their quest to receive official royal security after announcing their upcoming move back to the U.K. Markle has been granted her first government-backed security review since stepping back from her royal role in 2020. The committee chairman of the Royal and VIP Executive Committee, an independent U.K. Home Office committee that determines who receives taxpayer-funded police protection, informed Prince Harry last week that a new risk assessment for him, and a separate one for Meghan, would be commissioned after their move. Prince Harry was granted a Risk Management Board analysis in July, but he has yet to learn the conclusions. That analysis was conducted prior to news of the family moving back to the U.K. was made public.

Comedian Jeff Arcuri, Thurston's husband, says that Thurston has brought up going the surrogacy route. "She brought it up to me yesterday!" Arcuri tells "People." "She goes, 'Do you think maybe we could look into the surrogacy thing this year?' I said, 'You just told me we’re doing too much!'" Thurston, who appeared on "The Bachelorette," "The Bachelor" and more, was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer last March, and has since revealed it has advanced to Stage 4.

A spokesperson for the touring group said that “as the concert promoter for Ed Sheeran’s U.S. Loop Tour, we have been notified by venues on the upcoming U.S. tour dates that they will not allow a concert to take place with Macklemore on the lineup.” They explained that this would apparently “result in the cancellation of the tour and impact hundreds of thousands of fans. After discussions with stakeholders, Macklemore will not be performing on the remaining support dates.”    Macklemore did respond shortly after this news broke, claiming that Sheeran was given an ultimatum by Robert Kraft and other NFL stadium owners, refusing to let the tour stop there if the rapper was on the bill.

The lawsuit, originally filed in 2022 and later dismissed before being revived on appeal, stems from songwriter Jordan Vincent’s claim that their song copied the hook from his 2015 track of the same name. U.S. District Court Judge Wesley L. Hsu said he would “reject the defendants’ attempt to categorically exclude the testimony of the two experts from the plaintiff,” adding that he believed the experts had “some foundation for those opinions.” Although Vincent now faces a higher burden to prove the songs are “strikingly similar,” his attorney Alfred J. Fluehr agreed with the judge’s assessment, saying, “This is a musicological dispute. That’s for a jury.” Hsu says the matter will be taken under submission and would issue a written ruling later.

Dua Lipa And Samsungs Legal Battle Heating Up - Samsung is trying to get Dua Lipa’s $15-million lawsuit over the use of her image on television packaging dismissed. The company argues in a new filing that the photo simply showed content available on Samsung TV Plus and there’s “nothing suggesting plaintiff endorses the televisions.” Samsung also claims a content partner gave “explicit assurance” that permission had been secured. Lipa sued in May after her legal team says multiple cease-and-desist orders were ignored. Her lawsuit accuses Samsung of copyright and trademark infringement and the unauthorized “commercial exploitation” of her likeness. Samsung is asking the court to throw out the case entirely.
