1. Manually submit your announcements to our monthly website calendar using this linked SUBMIT AN EVENT form. It can also be found on our homepage > community tab > dropdown submit an event.  You may even attach a flyer or image of your event.  Properly posted events will be reviewed, edited and considered for both our website and air-personalities to talk about, in rotation with other community events.  These announcements can also be emailed a minimum of 2 weeks in advance to kent@wcfx.com.

*TFN:  The City of Midland has a variety of seasonal job opportunities open to fill.  Seasonal Horticulture Team Member, Miracle Field                 Attendant, L.E.A.P. Program Leaders, Seasonal Laborer - www.cityofmidlandmi.gov -

*TFN - Midland Parks and Recreation Department will begin accepting beach volleyball team registrations for the 2024 summer season on                 Monday, April 1, 2024.  Registration is first-come, first-served and leagues will fill. Leagues will begin on Monday, June 3. Leagues are                 played as an 8-week season (8-game guarantee). Games will be played at Stratford Woods Park Sunday through Thursday between 6 – 8:30                 p.m.  Questions can be answered at cityofmidlandmi.gov/beachvolleyball or in person at the Parks and Recreation office

*Thru April 29:  CRDL College Exam Cram Bags - All Day, Veterans Memorial Library, Mt Pleasant - Calling all college students! Whether you                 are studying in the library or at home for your finals, we’ve got you covered. Stop by the library and grab an exam-cram bag. In it, you’ll                 find extra supplies and goodies to make studying for your exam just a little bit easier. It is available for pickup at the Help Desk while                 supplies last.

*Thru April 30:  Team registration for the 2024 Midland softball season is taking place now through April 14 for fast pitch & modified teams.                 Team registration fees will be accepted online, by mail, or in person at the Midland Parks and Recreation Office, 4811 N. Saginaw Rd.,                 Midland, MI 48640 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.  To register online, visit www.midlandsoftballassociation.com.

*Thru April 30:  The City of Midland invites residents to apply for positions on one of the City’s boards and commissions.  Applicants may                 submit applications to cityhall@midland-mi.org; by mail to City Hall, Attention: City Manager’s Office, 333 W. Ellsworth Street, Midland,                 MI 48640; or by placing the application inside an envelope and putting it into the secure drop box located inside the front doors of City                 Hall.  For questions or more information, please contact the City Manager’s Office at 989-837-3301.

*Thru May 1:  This summer, Mt Pleasant City residents have the opportunity to plant, grow & harvest their own fruits and vegetables at the                 Horizon                 Park Community Garden at 1535 Sweeney Street. Fifteen 4’ x 8’ garden plots are available for a summer rental fee of $30.  To           reserve a plot, contact the Parks Department at (989) 779-5331. One plot per household.

*Thru May 3:   Applications for the MyMichigan Medical Center Clare Volunteer Scholarship program are now being accepted for the 2024-25                 school year. Students may access the application online at www.mymichigan.org/clarevolunteerscholarship. The deadline for the 2024-25                 school year has been extended to Friday, May 3, 2024.

*Thru May 3:  The City of Midland begins its annual yard waste collection - Yard waste is collected curbside on residents’ regular weekly refuse                 collection day. Yard waste must be placed in Kraft paper compost bags or the City’s blue 95-gallon yard waste bins before being set at the                 curb. Acceptable materials include grass clippings, leaves, garden waste, and small twigs and branches.  Stickers are not required on yard                 waste bags and bins until the first Monday in May.

*Thru May 18:  The Midland County Sports Hall of Fame has tickets on sale for its 2024 Induction Ceremony on Saturday, May 18 at Dow                 Diamond in Midland.  The 2024 inductees are:  Eric Albright, Athletic Director, Mitch Bohn, Athletic Director, Laura Crower, Tri-Athlete,                 Wendell Dilling, Senior Olympian, Barry Winslow, Speed Skater, The Great Lakes Loons - Tickets are now available for purchase at $55.00                 each online at www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/halloffame or in person at the Midland Parks and Recreation office, 4811 N. Saginaw Road,                 Midland. Seating is limited, so purchase tickets soon!

*Thru May 20:  Registration for summer courses at Mid Michigan College is available now and courses start Monday, May 20 on campus and                 online. *Thru May 31:  The City of Mt. Pleasant has contracted with Progressive Companies, based in Grand Rapids, to lead development of an                 improvement plan for Mission Street.  To launch this effort, the city is releasing a community survey. Just follow this link                 [https://tinyurl.com/mstreetmp] or scan the QR Code below to complete it. Paper copies of the survey will be available at City Hall (320                 W. Broadway Street). Survey deadline is May 31, 2024. There will be three $50 gift certificates from businesses located along Mission Street                 that will be drawn from the list of those who complete the survey and share their email address.

*Thru June 3:  The 23rd Mt Pleasant Youth Police Academy is scheduled for July 8-25 - This free program offers youth, going into grades 6-8, who have an interest in law enforcement, an up-close view of the skills and necessary training needed for law enforcement officials.               Applications are now available at Mt. Pleasant Public Schools and the Division of Public Safety, 804 E. High Street, from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. The application deadline is June 3, 2024.

*Thru August 1:  Midland’s Beautification Advisory Committee is accepting nominations for the annual Appreciation of Beautification Awards                 for Landscaping Accomplishments and Structural/Site Improvements made to residential and non-residential (business) property. A third                 category, the Bette R. Tollar Civic Commitment Award, recognizes major beautification accomplishments that benefit the community as a                 whole.  Only properties within the City of Midland are eligible for awards.  www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/beautyawards.

*Thru August 25:  ReLeaf Michigan, the only statewide tree planting and education non-profit organization in Michigan, is seeking entries for the                 16th biennial Michigan Big Tree Hunt contest. The 2023-2024 contest, which offers prizes for identifying the biggest trees in Michigan, is                 open to participants of all ages.  bigtreehunt.com.

27  National Prescription Drug Take Back Day - The Mt. Pleasant Department of Public Safety offers a Prescription Drug Drop Box for the City of                 Mt. Pleasant and surrounding area. The secure mail slot is in the Mt. Pleasant Department of Public Safety lobby at 804 E. High St.                 Individuals can walk in and anonymously deposit unused or expired prescription medications twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.                 Pills need to be taken out of the container and put into a small bag to be deposited into the mail slot. No liquids or creams are accepted.

On May 22, Krapohl Ford & Lincoln will donate 100% of the                 proceeds from oil changes to the donation drive.
